How was your Thanksgiving? We had a wonderful time with my parents and so much good food. :)

Now onto more Christmas fun!!! We made a rule a few years back to only exchange handmade gifts with my parents. I've already started on my mother's and have some great ideas for my Dad. I can't say what quite yet since my mom sometimes reads my blog, lol.

Today I had creating another Christmas decoration and make a fun card. First, my card... I used today's PTI MIM technique of ribbon pleating. I've always loved this technique and used it with lace here. I also used The Shabby Tea Room inspiration photo, love the white, silver, glitter combo. ;)

I used my PTI stamps and dies, stickles, and fine glitter. The fun part is the angel comes off and can be used as a ornament for your tree.

And my Christmas decor jar. I used bottlebrush trees, snow & glitter, and a glitter "Merry Christmas" ornament. I hot glued the trees to the bottom of the jar. Can be used for any jar.. any size!

Christmas decorating...

I *love* decorating for Christmas. Each year I add more & more to my collection. I also enjoy making some as well. This year so far I've made:

• Ornaments
• 2 wreaths
• A centerpiece
• A wallhanging

I have a few more ideas as well. Today I used PTI's MIM technique to make another ornament. ;) The technique was to use sentiments to make a background. I used several sets to make my background on tag die cuts. I layered the tags over several shades of cardstock, added the embossed strip to the side and then... the small grapevine wreath.

I used a snow pen to add the "snow" and die cut the horse and sleigh. For the hanger I found a twig in the yard and tied it to the ornament with twine. Added the bow and some holly and berries.

It's hanging on the tree along with last weeks ornament.

And I made this little decoration using a candle and some candy canes (it took about 36).

Winter Wonderland..

Hope you had a nice weekend! We had our first snow this week.. just a dusting. This weekend we went to Bronner's (largest Christmas store in the world) in Frankenmuth. Put us all in the Christmas spirit.. I even started decorating. :)

This weeks PTI technique for MIM is using a glue pad to stamp and adding (flocking, glitter ect..) to the image for a neat look. Since we're decorating the tree I thought I'd make an ornament.

First I stamped onto a transparency and added white flocking (for the snowflake background). I layered the transparency over light blue cardstock that fit in the frame (from Michael's and painted white). I die cut the sledding image and stamped the sentiment and adhered. Add the ribbon and bell and you have a fun ornament. ;)

And something new I tried.. this flower is as hard as resin BUT guess what it's made of???????

BREAD!!!! Yep, you mix ModPodge, white bread, and paint (yellow, green ect..) and shape it. It dried just as hard as resin. I'll be trying this in my resin molds next. Neat, huh!!?

Merry Monday...

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a nice relaxing weekend doing nothing special. Next weekend we're planning our annual trip to Bronner's in Frankenmuth (the world's largest Christmas store). It always gets us in the
Christmas spirit. ;)

Speaking of Christmas I have a few things to share. First this weeks PTI MIM is reverse applique, check it out! I decided to use the mat die to punch out the middle and then embossed kraft cardstock for behind it. I then die cut the smaller mat and added the deer and sentiment. I love the deer, they're perfect for more many cards.

And I decided to try making a few Christmas wreaths for the firs time. I went to WalMart (basically the only big store in our town, lol) and found some great ornaments for $1-$2. I love white and this ended up being my fav:
