Have a Holly Jolly Halloween...

It's the big night! Are you ready? My son will be General Grievous from Star wars and he's requested we all dress up to go with him. SO.. my Mom will be Darth Vader, my Dad a scary werewolf, dh a pirate, and me a black cat. Should be funny!! We won't be actually trick or treating but just walking with him. ;)

Even though it's Halloween I've been in the Christmas mood since getting a box from PTI full of holiday goodness. I've actually finished 40 cards so far. Today the PTI MIM challenge was to create your own background paper. So I used some of my new stamps to do so. I used 3 different size snowflakes and colors of inks for the background. I used the tree die to make a pink tree (how fun). tfl :)

Halloween fun...

Are you ready for Halloween? I made tags and gifts bags of goodies for everyone in my sons class & my work. DS costume is ready and the house is all decorated.

Today I combined the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room (see the awesome inspiration photo) and PTI's Betsy V. MIM technique. The technique was to emboss and then use a brayer to ink. I embossed white cardstock, cut in 3 strips, and then used the brayer to ink in black, yellow, and orange. I die cut the frame and stamped the crow, cut it out, and added the black ribbon and yellow rafia.

And a pumpkin I made for Emma's Paperie. I decoupaged the papers and added the leaves, jeweled vines ect..

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

I've been singing Christmas songs this morning, lol. Why you ask? I spent some of the weekend making Christmas songs. I thought I'd get a head start since I usually send a lot. I have 25 done so far using old papers from years past. Will you be making your own this year?

After I was burned out on Christmas I switched gears to do some challenges. I was inspired by this weeks Shabby Tea Room photo and challenge to use dry embossing. I used this weeks CardPatterns sketch and PaperTrey Inks MIM challenge to layer die cuts.

I used October Afternoon papers, embossed the orange background paper, and layered the die cuts from the fillable frames set. The butterflies are die cut from cork and the flowers are made from fabric.

Beautiful...

We're having the best weather here in Michigan. It's been in the 70's & 80's..amazing! Add the Fall colors, flowers, pumpkins, and decorations and you have perfection. I love this time of year. ;)

Today I have fun with a couple challenges. First The Shabby Tea Room has a gorgeous inspiration photo of Fall flowers/color. With an extra challenge to make a card w/handmade flowers if possible. Well, I used Bo Bunny papers, PTI stamps and dies and made my own flowers.

 
 
 

And todays PTI "Make it Monday" to use a watercolor brush with your stamps/ink. I used PTI stamps, ink, and dies. I used my watercolor brush to shade the strawberries.
